Heller Theatre has contributed to the artistic, cultural and educational needs of the city of Tulsa for over 25 years. It has a proven track record of strong community support. It serves a variety of age groups and draws a loyal audience from all over the Tulsa metro area.

Heller has become a cornerstone of the Oklahoma arts community, known throughout the state for producing innovative, contemporary arts programming. Heller Theatre has the state’s longest running improvisation program, Laughing Matter, and hosts an international play contest once a year. In 2005, Heller was chosen as the Oklahoma Community Theatre Association’s “Theatre of the Year.” It has consistently been rewarded with excellent reviews in local media, and has a reputation among actors, designers, and audiences for presenting the highest quality entertainment and the most challenging new drama.

Heller Theatre is part of the Park and Recreation Department of the City of Tulsa. It was established in 1981 as a youth theatre program in partnership with Theatre Tulsa.

In 1985 Heller changed its emphasis to an adult theatre program presenting contemporary plays. Julie Tattershall is the artistic and managing director for Heller Theatre, assisted by Erin Scarberry and Frank Gallagher. Heller Theatre at Henthorne Park is located at 4825 S. Quaker .

Heller Theatre is a member of the Oklahoma Community Theatre Association and the Tulsa Area Community Theatre Alliance

Heller Theatre is part of the Park and Recreation Department of the City of Tulsa. Heller has been producing contemporary plays since 1981. The same three member staff, Julie Tattershall, Frank Gallagher and Erin Scarberry operates and manages both Clark Theatre and Heller Theatre.
