A memory play spanning three decades, this 1999 Tony Award Winner looks at life through the eyes of Clifford, only son of jazz trumpeter Gene and alcoholic mother Terry. Alternating between scenes in their New York apartment and the jazz club, Leight shows the slow disintegration of both a family and an era. Sweet and poignant, but never sentimental, Side Man is a powerful elegy in the tradition of great American drama.

The play is directed by Lisa Stefanic.

The players are Kenneth Smith, Deek Adams, Annette Rosenheck, Monica Barrzak, David Gray, Kurt Harris, and Mark Albert.
