Heller Theatre is proud to present "5 Women Wearing the Same Dress" by Alan Ball for Summer Stage 2003. Alan Ball is the creator and executive producer of the HBO series "Six Feet Under", and the writer for "American Beauty" which he received the 1999 Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.
During an ostentatious wedding reception in Knoxville, Tennessee, five reluctant, identically clad bridesmaids hide out in an upstairs bedroom, each with her own reason to avoid the proceedings below. As the afternoon wears on, these five different women joyously discover a common bond in this wickedly funny, irreverent and touching celebration of the women's spirit.
The cast includes Sarah Alfred, Emily Chandlee, Lisa McCrossen, Regina Rae Heim, Allison Barnett and Thomas Watts.
Also on the technical side of the production we have, Sherry Zyskowski is our stage manager, Larry Latham as the set designer and Tony Batchelder as lighting designer. Julie Tattershall directs this production.
The play is suggested for adult audiences and contains adult language and situations.
